The consistent success that has been achieved by Permodalan Darul Ta\u2019zim (PDT) has to be strengthened to face the uncertain times. Therefore, the workflow and strategic planning has to be detailed and adaptive to the global situation, which enables PDT to be more flexible and adaptive to the constant economic change. This can be done through polishing the workflow of potential businesses, taking into account the ones that are available in Johor, as well as the areas in Wilayah Singapura-Johor-Riau or (SIJORI).<\/span><\/p>\n In line with the 7 Ikhtiar Makmur Johor, there is an abundance of opportunities for businesses and benefits that can be explored by PDT. I believe that through commitment, expertise and experience that has been achieved, PDT is able to fight through the current situation of COVID-19.<\/span><\/p>\n With that, I would like to take this opportunity to give my thanks to line of Board of Directors and staff personnel of PDT for their efforts throughout this time. \r\n\r\nThis is my first Chairman\u2019s statement since PDT was formed in 1994.\r\n\r\nIn 2017 Johor recorded a favourable growth at 6.2% than the national growth of 5.9%. Interest in Johor from domestic and foreign investors remains strong despite uncertainties and challenges in the global economic growth. The state government has taken the right step by diversifying its economic portfolio in view of the challenges posed by the global economic situation\r\n\r\nFor now our focus has remained \ufb01rmly. From diversifying to the governance of publicly controlled businesses and to the corporate \ufb01nance advice we provide in support of state government\u2019s private sector negotiations and interventions. In each of these areas, we are committed to ensuring value for money and the highest possible standards in everything that we do.\r\n\r\nSo one important focus of the Board is to ensure that we have an executive and non-executive team with the skills and capabilities to match our mission, and the values to ensure we execute that mission in the right way. It is our aim to recruit the very best from the private and public sectors with the authentic promise of providing extraordinarily interesting and complex work and a culture that is designed to bring out the very best in all our people.\r\n\r\nMy thanks go to my colleagues on the Board and to all of the staff at PDT for their efforts over the year. Together, we can look forward to continuing to deliver against our mandate and to providing the highest standards of equity holding and governance advice to the state government over the coming year.\r\n\r\n
